Paul Daniel - Director
Paul Daniel has been dancing since the age of 5. Having trained with Johnny Young Talent School and V.I.P Dance Studio in Adelaide, his dance repertoire includes Jazz, Funk, Hip Hop and Freestyling. Specializing in Ballroom and Latin (his passion), and he has been teaching dance for almost 20 years! He has experience teaching adults, couples, children, the elderly, as well as proven success with disability and rehabilitation students. His claim is he is yet to meet someone whom he cannot teach to dance. Paul's student/s consistently receive a high mark for their dancing examinations and he's also a reputable specialist choreographing wedding couples. Paul has also worked with a number of other dance studio's both within Australia and internationally prior to calling YCD home. Since 2007, Paul has worked with Hugh Jackman and Gary Sweet on two major Australian feature films, trained in New York at the Broadway Dance Centre, Pineapple Dance Studios in the U.K, the world renowned Semley Dance School in London, The Euro Dance Centre in Germany. He's also trained with choreogragher Tony Meredith of "So You Think You Can Dance"- the U.S series. Paul's professional credits include, The Wizard of Oz, The Boy From Oz, The Book Place, Footy Show, Sydney 2000 Olympics, being a supporting act for the Hilltop Hoods & Human Nature and a freestyle dancer for Armand Van Helden and Groove Terminator with countless other nightclub performance and promotional credits. In addition to his professional dance qualifications, Paul also holds a Diploma in Business Management, and prior to establishing You Can Dance Studio he had a successful career in both DJ'ing and nightclub management.

Paul Daniel is an internationally accredited and qualified dance instructor through; The I.D.T.A (International Dance Teachers Association) and the I.S.T.D (Imperial Society Teachers of Dancing) in the United Kingdom.

 

 

 

Alex Kadamani - Manager. Alex is a professional actor/dancer and graduate of NMIT with a Diploma of the Arts. Trained in Ballroom, Latin American and Street Latin through the A.D.S examinations board he was previously a student of You Can Dance Studio... In 2008 we quickly snapped him up train him to become an outstanding instructor in his own right! Alex has a natural teaching ability and is patient and easy going, all of which makes his students feel at ease. He has performed in many theatre productions, short films and commercials and has also had a feature film role in "Six Lovers" [2012]. For all the wedding couples out there, Alex is the instructor to book with for that special first dance! Using his acting abilities and knowledge, he's been able to choreograph some fantastic routines over the years and is especially popular with the couples who just want to look natural and not too showy. Alex knows exactly how to make that wedding dance memorable!

Alex also teaches our Beginner Latin class every Wednesday night @ 7pm & ARGENTINE TANGO Sundays @ 3pm!

Julia Basa. The very talented Miss Julia Basa is a trained instructor in Ballroom, Latin and Street Latin through the Australian Dancing Society and has been teaching at several different dance studio's around Melbourne for the last 7 years. More recently, Julia found her passion for Zumba whilst travelling to Orlando, Florida in 2009 for the Zumba Instructors Convention where she trained in Basics 1, Gold and Atomic for Kids. Full of energy, outgoing and friendly, she is an extremely patient instructor and perfect for all those nervous first time dancers. Julia has been trained in all aspects of Ballroom dancing and has sound knowledge of both the American and International style syllabus. Julia also brings to the studio a great deal of knowledge in training men to dance like men! She has had fantastic results in training her students to become extremely good social dancers. Attention wedding couples this is the girl you want to book with for that beautifully elegant first dance where the groom won't dance like a telly-tubby!

Nat Finn. Look out people! If you're after an instructor that never lets you down with a boring lesson, look no further! Miss Natalie Finn has been teaching dance for over 10 years and takes a humoristic and playful approach to her instruction. With roots in Jazz, Funk, Commercial, Latin, Ballroom and now... Zumba, there isn't much this talented lady cannot do. With a resume that never seems to end, Natalie is an instructor who is always in high demand. You may have seen her teaching ballroom dancing or rocking out the gyms of Melbourne with her Zumba classes that would put Richard Simmons to shame! For Natalie, life is extreme and there's no time to waste in getting YOU to achieve YOUR goals! Her lessons are guaranteed to leave you in stitches, passionate about dance, knowledgeable on all things fat free and sore from laughing so hard. Natalie is fun, makes you feel at home and knows exactly how to make learning to dance refreshingly... fun!

Vlad Akhchin is a very talented man needing very little introduction. Originally from Russia,
Vlad has been dancing since he could walk. A current member of "Rewind" Dance Crew, he is passionate about all things Hip Hop & Krump... His competition credits include: Raw, Groove,
Got Swag, Step Off, Get Krumped, Next Level, The Game, Judgement Day & VHHC. You may have seen him more recently dancing in KG's music video debut "Everybody in the Club" or at the 2011 St Kilda Festival, the official Bruno Mars After-Party, Soulclap and Bone Thugs n Harmony. You can see Vlad doing what he does best on the new season of "Everybody Dance Now" currently airing on Channel 10. Look out for EyeGasam!

We suspect that Vlad never actually leaves the studio... because he never stops dancing!

 

 

 

 

Candice Canon is a high level Ballroom & Latin American dance insturctor with international, national and state-wide competitive success. She has several years teaching experience and an accreditation enabling her to teach the international Dancesport syllabus. She has trained in Australia and UK under some of the worlds most renowned teachers and choreographers including: Jason Gilkinson (Burn the Floor and So You Think You Can Dance), Richard Gleave (8 times undefeated world champion), Anne Gleave (former World and British Champion), Matt Lee (So You Think You Can Dance), Andrew Sinkinson (former World and British Champion) and many other well-respected and well-known coaches.

Candice is available for private lessons in competitive dancesport coaching.

 

 

 

 

Teresa Germano has been dancing since the age of 3.Trained in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop and
Contemporary she has been a student of the CSTD and RAD syllabus.In 1993 she played the lead role of Fanny in the musical 'The Magic Faraway Tree'. Teresa is the founder and head choreographer of "Allure". She has danced for the ABC network, Backup for J-Wess and performed and choreographed for The Dragonfly Restaurant. More recently Teresa has been featured in the hit comedy series "Angry Boys" as backing dancer for character "Smouse". Teresa is a former teacher of the Melbourne Music Academy and an original member of
Dance 2XS Australia.

Noni Dunstone is an actress and character/cabaret comedian. Having studied Tap for 7 years prior to gaining a BCA in Performing Arts with honors at the Flinders University Drama Centre, she also studied a number of other dance styles. You may have seen her in a number of well known TV commercials or maybe as her character incarnation of "Karmin Suitrout" which saw her at the Melbourne Comedy Festival and also hosting our opening night in 2009!

Noni is the resident host of all our studio functions.
